The Butterfly Estates is the first of its kind to bring a new family oriented, eco-attraction to the extensively redeveloped River District of Downtown Fort Myers. Our innovative concept combines a hands on natural park atmosphere with an educational twist promoting conservation. This inviting setting provides a place that is not only a botanical garden & butterfly habitat, but an experience. This desirable venue is centrally located minutes away from existing attractions such as The Imaginarium, The Fort Myers Historic Museum, The Burroughs Home, The Edison & Ford Winter Estates, and Fort Myers Yacht Basin. We sit within a short walking distance from the Caloosahatchee River and just a short drive from I-75.
The Butterfly Estates consists of a veranda wrapped Café, Upscale Gift Shop, and Old Fashioned Ice Cream & Sweet Shop. Originally, built in the early 1900’s, our extensively renovated buildings house our venues with a deep, rich , historic significance. These former homes of early settlers of Southwest Florida are centrally located and proudly displayed with widespread butterfly gardens, waterfalls and our Brand New 3,614 sq. foot Glazed Glass Butterfly Conservatory.
